Sooner or Later
All of us have this favorite list of movies in mind, those that touched our hearts or eventually made us happy, afraid, sad, think, laugh with tears or the worst, caused us in trauma.
Well I want to share with you what’s mine and how it inspired me to create this another painting. Ever since, “Windstruck” places first on my list. (So for you who haven’t watched it yet, better do because it’s really nice and it made me cry a bunch of tears. 🙂 That’s why when I found out that it’s a prequel of the movie, “My Sassy Girl” I had this urge to also watch it because I assumed and expected to have the same appreciation as what I also had in the first. Though I always hear about this movie from my friends, it was just this year that I finally got the chance to watch it, and BOOM! It never failed me. I love it so dearly!
It is interesting that the two movies I’ve mentioned are really connected with each other, not only the storyline but also because of the same artists that portrayed the characters. It was about the journey of a girl who found her soul mate, lost him and through that, caused her to emotional heartbreak which eventually led her to whom she was really destined to be with. Bear with me, but I just want to tackle this for a while and to use this quotation I read before that I think would define what a soul mate is in the author’s perspective, in a way that would also be understandable (TAKE NOTE: The author of this might also be wrong on some parts.) :
“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants.
But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. A soul mate’s purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life.”
Anyway, I always have fantasized if I’ll be able to experience this fairy-tale-like love stories in real life. We all want to have one! Unfortunately, I can’t let any magical thing to happen in my life now. I guess the perfect timing is just what I really wanted and hmmm what else? AH-HAH! A glimpse to the future!
To sum up, the movies, “Windstruck” & “My Sassy Girl”, just prove that whatever you are experiencing now, however painful or disappointing it is, there is and will always is a REASON behind it. You may not know now, but sooner or later, YOU WILL. 🙂
